Stamp Duty Takings Rise by 64%

Last year, the Government of Jersey received almost £30m more than they expected in stamp duty - with the total secured, as part of property transactions, was £61m.

The figure gained marks a 64% increase on the £37m received in 2020, £29.7m higher than initially predicted in the 2021 Government plan and £17.1m higher than forecasted in the 2022-25 Government Plan.

In the latest Annual Report and Accounts, the Government described 2021 as a “very strong year” for stamp duty.
