Island Plan under discussion
Changes to Jersey's Island Plan will be discussed in the States today (Tuesday).
The Planning Minister, Deputy Robert Duhamel, wants to make tweaks to the current proposals, which were passed in 2011. Among them, he wants to re-zone some green space to make way for affordable homes and social housing.
He suggests building on the sites of derelict glasshouses currently in the Green Zone.
More than 1,200 people are currently on the list for social housing, but many people are against the idea of building on green land.
